Originally a pagan church and rebuilt by Hadrian in AD125, this is one of the most magnificent historical sites in Rome. Situated in the old part of Rome, you’ll find yourself walking down narrow streets, probably lost and then you’ll stumble upon a large square with this magnificent structure. Going inside you’ll notice the sunlight shining through the large open hole at the top of the dome. Definitely a ‘must see’ if you are interested in truly beautiful ancient architecture.
