About
The garden at Benington Lordship has long been a prized destination during February for people to enjoy the drifts of snowdrops that sweep across the lawns around the elegant 18th century house (not open) and – in particular – cover the banks of the moat around the romantic remnants of ancient Norman castle. The flint towers of the ancient gatehouse and the undulating banks of the deep mote make for a dramatic setting into which the snowdrops introduce a picture that no visitor will forget. But as with other particular large gardens that open in these early weeks, it is the combination of the garden’s larger setting and the low carpets of late-winter delights that make a visit especialy memorable.
There are acres for children to explore and you will definitely return for the summer delights.
